Tricky Disco
Tricky Disco was one of several aliases used by London duo Michael Wells and Lee Newman, better known collectively as Greater Than One, a project that moved fluidly across house, techno and early rave culture under different names.
Their 1990 release on Warp and Outer Rhythm sits right at the point where UK techno was still being defined, combining stripped-back drum machine patterns with a playful, slightly off-kilter energy that made tracks like “Tricky Disco” and “House Fly” stand out on the floor.
